Construction Estimator - Plumbing

Title: Construction Estimator - Plumbing (Mechanical Contractor)
Location: Columbus, OH 43209
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000

Founded in the 1950s we are a 600 employee mechanical contracting firm in Columbus that specializes in HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire protection and prefabrication services for large-scale commercial, healthcare, industrial & institutional projects.  Most of our projects range from $5M - $100M and the company itself does north of $150M in revenue each year.  For this Plumbing Estimator position you will support our mechancial contracting operations by preparing accurate estimates, material takeoffs & bid proposals for plumbing projects of varying size & complexity.

What You Will Be Doing

• Review & interpret project specs, drawings & scope documents to prepare accurate plumbing estimates
• Perform detailed material takeoffs & pricing for plumbing systems & related mechanical components
• Coordinate w/ subcontractors & suppliers to obtain competitive quotes & verify scope alignment
• Participate in site surveys & project walks to ensure estimates reflect field conditions
• Provide timely & accurate estimate packages to senior leadership for bid submissions

What You Need for this Position

• 5+ years of plumbing estimating experience in commercial or institutional construction
• Proficiency w/ estimating software i.e. Trimble Viewpoint, Autodesk Est MEP, QuoteSoft etc
• Ability to read & interpret technical documents, specifications & mechanical drawings
• Strong math, organizational & time management skills
• Valid driver's license, OSHA 10 certification & ability to conduct site visits
