Job Summary

This position is responsible for directing and coaching the college's women's basketball program.

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages practices.

• Recruits student athletes.

• Schedules games.

• Manages games; schedules referees; directs the preparation of facilities.

• Monitors the academic progress of student athletes.

• Teaches student athletes the fundamentals of the sport.

• Fundraising and promotions.

• Budget Management.

• Attends staff meetings.

• Conference, institutional, and sport rules knowledge and compliance.

• Team travel administration and supervision.

• Performs related duties.

• Oversee Basketball Camps

• Provides safe transportation of East Georgia State College students in the approved fleet or rental vehicle.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.

• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three years of related college level experience.

• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Preferred Qualifications

• It is preferred that the position holder have classroom teaching experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of NJCAA, GCAA, University System of Georgia, East Georgia State College, Athletic Department rules and regulations.

• Knowledge of college-level athletic program management principles.

• Knowledge of basketball rules and procedures.

• Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.

• Skill in the coaching and training of student athletes.

• Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.

• Skill in oral and written communication.
