Job Description

This full-time social worker position is based in a K-12 school setting in Plainwell, MI, available immediately with a contract through June 4th. The role involves managing a special education caseload, including 13 direct students, 3 consult cases, and 3 monitoring cases. This position requires a professional capable of working in both special education and 31N capacities, filling a previously split-funded role with a comprehensive full-time commitment.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing social work services to special education students across K-12 grades.
• Collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement individualized plans.
• Conducting assessments, consultations, and ongoing monitoring of student progress.
• Addressing social, emotional, and behavioral issues impacting student learning and development.
• Maintaining required documentation and complying with school policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid social work licensure or certification applicable to school settings.
• Experience working with special education populations.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and provide both direct and consultative services.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of educational laws and special education requirements.
