Assistant General Manager - Full-Service Restaurant

Job Title: Assistant General Manager

Location: National Harbor, Maryland

Position Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive salary with benefits

  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000; Monthly discretionary bonus potential

Job Responsibilities:

As the Assistant General Manager, you will be a key leader responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while upholding our high standards for customer service and staff performance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, including floor management, kitchen coordination, and guest satisfaction.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead, mentor, and train staff to ensure service excellence and adherence to company policies.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist the General Manager in managing budgets, controlling costs, and achieving financial targets.
  • Guest Experience: Maintain high standards of guest service, address guest concerns, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for all patrons.
  • Inventory and Ordering: Oversee inventory levels and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate ordering.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations and company policies.
  • Event Management: Assist in planning and executing special events, private parties, and other functions as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Act as a leader in resolving any operational issues swiftly and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a full-service restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and improve profitability.
  • Knowledge of restaurant management software (e.g., POS systems) and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of local health and safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a high-volume, dining environment.
  • Degree in hospitality management or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with event coordination.
