Under the clinical supervision of the designated site Clinical Supervisor, the Counselors are responsible for the programs and services provided to the program participants served by Mirror. Counselors shall operate in accordance with the policies and procedures determined by the Board of Directors and as implemented by his/her supervisor(s) and all parties shall abide by all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Counselors will need to specifically abide by the Kansas Department of Aging & Disability Services standards. The duties of this position include curricula development and implementation, psychoeducational presentations, individual counseling, group counseling, case management activities, and all related paperwork demands. Duties And Responsibilities Maintain communication with referral sources. Dialogue with local referral sources to keep them apprised of their clients' performance in treatment when requested. Create curricula and design treatment plans for clients. Provide group/individual/family counseling in residential and outpatient settings. Maintain treatment-related paperwork such as treatment plans, evaluations, discharge summaries, and electronic client records. Attend and participate in staff and supervision meetings. Participate in on-call rotation for clinical coverage at residential facilities. Assist supervisors with coverage issues when necessary. Provide psychoeducational groups on addiction, stress management, nutrition, criminal thinking, etc. Assist in collecting client fees as needed. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, substance abuse counseling, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred. Must be licensed at the master's level or as an addictions counselor in Kansas. Certification in SB 123 services is desirable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work cooperatively, adaptability, organizational skills, and knowledge of addiction and treatment modalities are required. Experience with criminal justice clients and telehealth services is preferred. Ability to ensure privacy and internet connectivity for telehealth, pass security checks, and demonstrate a minimum of two years abstinence from substances if previously diagnosed are also required. Must have computer skills and be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
