Program Manager, Museum of Tolerance – Simon Wiesenthal Center – Los Angeles, CA Description Headquartered in Los Angeles, the Simon Wiesenthal Center maintains operations in New York, Chicago, Miami, Toronto, Paris, Berlin, Jerusalem, and Buenos Aires. Position Overview The Programs Manager, Museum of Tolerance plays a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating high‑quality educational and community‑centered programs at the Museum of Tolerance. This position is responsible for fostering meaningful connections between the museum, youth, families, and community partners through dynamic in‑person and virtual experiences. Working cross‑departmentally, the Program Manager ensures that content is presented consistently across all educational programs, tours, and interactive experiences while advancing the museum’s commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI). Key Responsibilities Develop innovative in‑person and virtual educational programs, including guided tours, hands‑on activities, and interactive learning experiences that connect with both temporary exhibitions and the permanent collection. Regularly deliver all museum educational programs. Evaluate and revise new and existing museum offerings, implementing a project‑based learning approach to engage visitors of all ages in meaningful ways. Develop and facilitate ongoing training for volunteers and paid tour guides in collaboration with the Associate Director and other team members as applicable. Provide coaching and ongoing evaluation for volunteers and tour guides to ensure a high level of facilitation across all programs. Provide support for the coordination of the museum’s weekly/monthly volunteer schedule. Collaborate with the Content Team to create structured learning modules as needed. Manage and support interns providing ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Support public programs and other educational initiatives as needed. Collect, analyze, and report attendance data for relevant museum programs to assess engagement and inform program adjustments. Manage the annual programs budget, advocating for transparency and resource allocation that supports program expansion and sustainability. Ensure that all educational initiatives are presented consistently across platforms and experiences. Foster collaboration across departments, ensuring seamless communication between the Education Department, floor staff, and other teams. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in museum education, youth and family programming, or community engagement. Proven ability to develop and manage educational programs that cater to diverse audiences. Proven ability in program facilitation in the classroom or a non‑traditional educational setting. Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience managing teams and fostering cross‑departmental partnerships. Expertise in program evaluation, data collection, and budget management. Bilingual proficiency (preferred) and experience in developing accessible, multilingual educational content. Passion for fostering meaningful connections between museums and communities, with a deep commitment to DEAI principles.
