Job Description

General Purpose The Industrial Equipment Cleaner is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and maintaining all production equipment and surrounding areas in a commercial laundry facility. This role ensures that machinery, workspaces, and production zones remain free of lint, dust, residue, and debris that could impact safety, efficiency, or product quality. The cleaner supports smooth plant operations by following established cleaning schedules and safety procedures. Responsibilities Clean and maintain industrial laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, ironers, folders, conveyors, and lint collectors. Remove lint buildup, residue, and debris from inside and around equipment using brushes, vacuums, compressed air, and cleaning agents as appropriate. Wipe down and sanitize external surfaces of machinery and control panels. Perform routine cleaning of floors, walls, drains, and ceilings in production areas. Empty and clean lint screens, filters, and collection bags. Assist maintenance staff during shutdowns or deep cleaning periods. Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures when working near powered equipment. Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Report any signs of equipment leaks, damage, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor. Maintain accurate cleaning logs and inspection records. Support plant housekeeping standards (5S or equivalent). Any other related task requested by Operations or the Engineering Leadership team. Previous experience in industrial cleaning, janitorial work, or plant maintenance preferred (laundry or manufacturing environment a plus). Basic understanding of mechanical systems and safe equipment handling. Ability to work in hot, humid, and noisy environments. Must be able to stand, bend, and lift at least 50 lbs for extended periods. Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail. Willingness to work flexible hours or weekends if required.
