Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will operate an electric stand-up forklift to move pallets of merchandise from delivery trailers to the receiving department, ensure accurate inventory counts, and assist with organizing and shipping materials.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Complete daily forklift safety checklist and adhere to all safety procedures
- Ensure truck wheels are chocked and dock lock is in place before entering trailers
- Operate stand-up forklift to move pallets and other materials within the warehouse
- Load, unload, and stack merchandise efficiently and safely
- Verify shipments against freight bills and report damaged or misshipped items
- Inventory materials on the work floor and provide materials to coworkers as needed
- Utilize warehouse management system (WMS) for tracking raw and finished goods
- Consolidate and pick products as required
- Monitor building access and maintain security procedures
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months of related experience or training (or equivalent combination)
- Demonstrated forklift operating experience
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with tens and hundreds
- Ability to read simple words, sentences, and recognize patterns in numbers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly
Physical Demands: - Frequent standing, reaching, handling, and using hands
- Occasional walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Required vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Work Environment: - Exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Loud work environment
- Safety-conscious atmosphere
