Job Description

SAGE Dining Services® is seeking a dedicated foodie with a passion for providing exceptional dining experiences to join our team at an exclusive boarding school in Kents Hill, ME. As our General Manager you will lead our team of culinary professionals to provide our guests with high-end dining experiences at their regular meals and at special catering events.

Beautiful Air-conditioned modern well equipped large kitchen and dining hall with a separate bakery in a respected and well established boarding school. The facility has more than ample storage and refrigeration. A gas fired brick pizza oven is the center piece of the servery. Superb canvas to display food with a stunning view of the White Mountains in the distance. Looking for a true chef who can command a culinary team and produce excellent quality food for a welcoming community. Catering experience is a must, because we consider every meal served a catered event!

Our Managers have drive and passion for what they do. They design menus that reflect the communities they serve. They write these menus at the venue. Our Managers hire their teams, manage orders, inventory, catering, and lead talent management. Our Managers care about their campus communities, and the relationships they form make the career choice to work for SAGE that much more enjoyable. Our clients are appreciative, as they see the hard work that we produce at every meal, and they see the passion we put into our scratch menus.

Typical schedule:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10:30 am- 7:30 pm
  • Friday & Saturday 9:00 am - 7:00 pm.
  • Year-round position.

What you'll do:

  • Demonstrate exemplary customer service skills and develop client relationships.
  • Hire, mentor, and train Team Members in a positive environment.
  • Create menus for daily meal service as well as for a variety of catering events.
  • Implement and maintain HACCP standards.
  • Manage merchandising.

What you'll need:

  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a food service operation in a financially responsible manner.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to develop client relationships.
  • Proven ability to hire, train, evaluate, and manage people.
  • Substantial culinary knowledge: trends, techniques, and processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Current ServSafe® certification, as well as local health department certification, where required.
  • Valid driver's license.
