SUMMARY:

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting a team in the detailed engineering design of either the substation physical electrical design or the system protection and control design. This position would be remote; thus, the candidate could live anywhere within the United States.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• To complete the substation system protection and control design the work would include creating or modifying electrical one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel elevations.

• To complete the substation physical electrical design the work would include creating or modifying the station physical layouts, sections, elevations, cable and conduit plans and details, ground grid design and details, and other physical drawings to provide a complete substation construction project.

• Lead the setup of electrical CAD configuration and procedures according to project requirements at the beginning of a project for the electrical design team.

• Completing a full range of drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.

• Apply design codes and specifications related to design requirements.

• Complete and review design drawings within scope, budget, and schedule. Perform project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field with three or more years of experience in substation drafting and design or four years progressive detailing and design experience.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.

Ability to apply client specifications and preferences to all designs.

Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.

Strong focus on quality.

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

High attention to detail is required.

Ability to work independently as well as a strong team player.

Self-starter with a desire to learn and grow. Not a finished product but eager to improve their future, Agbara’s, and the power delivery industry’s.

Proficient in AutoCAD

Experience with Microstation

WORKING LOCATION:

This job will be staffed remotely. A computer, monitors, and all necessary support equipment will be provided by Agbara.
