Neurotech Pharmaceuticals is an innovative biopharmaceutical company located in Cumberland, RI and Needham, MA, within Greater Boston’s vast biotechnology landscape. Since our inception more than 20 years ago, we have been developing a proprietary drug delivery platform for treatment of a variety of retinal disorders. Our drug delivery platform - Encapsulated Cell Technology (ECT) platform is designed to deliver genetically modified therapeutics to slow the progression of chronic retinal diseases. Our most advanced program is delivering a neurotrophic factor to treat the orphan disease Macular Telangiectasia Type 2 (MacTel). We are excited to expand our company from a research organization to a commercial entity following recent positive rendering from the FDA.

We are seeking an Associate Director, Patient Marketing, who will play a crucial role in preparing the market for and delivering the successful launch of our asset, ENCELTO. Key responsibilities will include executing all patient marketing initiatives in line with brand strategies and objectives, including direct-to-consumer strategy, media plan, content development, and analysis. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with Patient Advocacy, Sales, Corporate Communications, Commercial Operations, Market Access, Medical, and PRC, as well as other internal and external partners.

Job Requirements

  • Execute a comprehensive patient engagement and education plan for both disease and ENCELTO, aligning efforts across various channels (print/digital/social/etc) to provide a seamless, personalized experience
  • Own the understanding of the patient journey and leverage key patient insights to create supportive and empowering engagement tactics that resonate with patients’ unique needs
  • Ensure alignment with overall brand strategy and eyecare professional (ECP) brand initiatives, and partner with the ECP brand lead to inform inclusion of patient perspective.
  • Oversee the development and management of patient-facing product websites, banner ads, apps, etc., ensuring they are informative, accessible, and engaging.
  • Leverage strong marketing expertise to engage and build a MacTel community across social media platforms and other digital channels
  • Lead patient ambassador programming / patient centered events
  • Monitor engagement and performance metrics to assess campaign effectiveness, using insights to optimize strategies and resource allocation.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, vendor contracts and manage projects to the agreed upon timelines, budgets, and scopes

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 4+ years of product marketing experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of Pharmaceutical Marketing or Promotions, or relevant commercial experience including Sales, Marketing, or Market Access

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated proactive, creative and entrepreneurial approach
  • Experience in rare indications and ophthalmology experience preferred
  • Experience developing, implementing, and working on successful multichannel campaigns
  • Highly curious and analytical mind, with strong ability to synthesize, glean insight and propose direction from market and scientific data; demonstrated ability to build successful and innovative strategy
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment; demonstrated success in partnering with the Medical Affairs and Sales organizations
  • Outstanding project and budget management skills and experience managing multiple vendors, marketing partners and agency partners
