Zynga is looking for an expert Art Director to lead one of our successful mobile slot machine titles. You will be responsible for the game's visual direction and inspire a hardworking team of 2D artists while regularly collaborating with Production, Design, Engineering, and Product Management. This position requires an eye for quality and fun, as the Art Director is accountable for work seen by millions of players daily. You are motivated, experienced, and a skilled artist with an appreciation for fun, animated graphics, a passion for casino games, and the ability to deliver and expand in the existing art style. You should be eager to learn what players want and how to deliver it. This position will be located at any of Zynga's offices in the US or Canada.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all released art content, developed internally and externally, is consistent and high quality.
• Create Style Guides as needed.
• Partner with cross-discipline game team leaders to define and uphold a unified vision.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to set appropriate tone at strategic and feature levels.
• Lead both formal and informal critiques, and disseminate feedback through leads.
• Manage and mentor Art Leads.
• Assist in setting goals and objectives for the art team; support career development.
• Understand the full creative pipeline from concept art to animation and technical art.
• Continuously improve and optimize art development and production processes.
• Assist Producers in developing plans and task assignments; ensure feature estimates are scoped and planned.
• Guide, mentor, and assist with hiring/recruiting of team members and external studios as needed.
• Collaborate with Marketing on creation and development of Marketing materials.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experienced Art Director with a strong passion for slots who can lead through change.
• Bachelors in a creative field.
• 5+ years of experience leading a creative team.
• Comprehensive understanding of multiple creative disciplines and how they function in the gaming pipeline.
• Knowledge of software like Adobe Creative Suite, Perforce, JIRA, and other tools.
• High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills.
• Passionate about games; Zynga games a plus. Knowledge of the casino market and competition.
• High-quality portfolio; being an artist at heart.
• Experience in slots is not required but highly desirable.

What We Offer You

Zynga offers a world-class benefits package to support and balance the needs of our teams. The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $170,200 and $251,920 per year. In Chicago, IL, the range is expected to be between $149,800 and $221,680 per year. Base pay is location-dependent and may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and other business considerations. The total compensation package may include bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility for our 401(k) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Regular, full-time employees are eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance; 14 paid holidays per year; paid vacation (1525 days) or discretionary time off; up to 10 paid sick days per year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs; family planning support; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses.
